It’s summer! Not only does that mean it’s time to head to the lake, but it also means it’s intern season! We are so excited to have 14 interns this summer, ranging from an Electrician Apprentice Intern to an R&D Food Science Intern. We have a handful of bright students eager to learn more about the world of manufacturing. Each of these individuals brings something unique to the table, we are lucky to have them and are excited to see them in action.
We kicked the summer off with a cornhole tournament at Lakeside Golf Course, and it was a blast. It was a night filled with great conversation and even greater competition. Not only did this give the interns a chance to get to know one another, but several other KLN employees were also able to join for the night to welcome the interns.
“Our first day together as interns was great! Walking in right away, you could tell most of us were a little bit nervous, but the staff at KLN was beyond welcoming and inclusive, which helped so much. From the start, I could tell they had already created an environment that allows one to thrive and learn. They put together a day full of introductions, cornhole, and fun!” says Katie Johnson, a Perham native who has just wrapped up her junior year at Valley City State University. Katie has come back to Otter Tail County to spend her summer here at KLN as a Marketing Intern.
It has been an exciting experience growing our internship program and seeing multiple interns return year after year to continue their careers here at KLN. If you or someone you know are interested in learning more, head over to our ‘Internship‘ page for more info.
