“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the
world, indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead

Facility Dog Programs
Everyone can think of a moment when a pet lifted their spirits at a time when seemingly no one else could. Our animal companions have a unique ability to uplift and heal. That’s why NutriSource® is making a big commitment to therapy and facility dog programs across the United States. Facility dogs, who are professionally trained to support patients during treatments and procedures, play a critical role in easing anxiety and encouraging participation in care plans. The impact is being felt everywhere from children’s hospitals to support centers for veterans and first responders. With financial contributions, food donations, and dedicated green spaces to keep the working dogs happy, NutriSource is helping to bring comfort and relief to people during some of life’s most difficult and challenging circumstances.
Pinky Swear Foundation
We are a proud partner with the Pinky Swear Foundation donating $1 Million, over 5 years, to help fight childhood cancer.
Tuffy Nelson Memorial Golf Classic
Since the inception of the tournament 40 years ago, many memories have been made & friendships cultivated. The tournament has raised over $1.6 Million for great causes and commitments to making the world a better place. This year’s proceeds will go to five charities that help fight cancer & support families of cancer patients (Roger Maris Cancer Center, Pinky Swear Foundation, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, American Cancer Society, and Brave Like Gabe). The golf outing also benefits Make-A-Wish Minnesota, an organization that grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Soldier’s 6
It turns out dogs can both heal and heel. In 2021, we partnered with Soldier’s 6. The Minnesota non-profit, founded by Ed & Dana Abrahamson, provides honorably discharged Veterans, police officers, firefighters, paramedics, correctional officers, and 911 dispatchers with specially trained K-9’s. These special dogs will become their battle buddy and help guide them through the difficult days in life. For Ed, receiving a service dog was a life-changing experience.
“When I left the (police) department I was a hot mess. There were days when I was suicidal, I drank every day. I’ve got 8 years of Military, several deployments overseas, and a total of 20 years as a cop. It’s taken its toll,” said Abrahamson.
Employee Giveback (Ka$h For Kau$e$ Programs)
Our employees have multiple opportunities, through monetary donations and volunteer hours, to give back to the communities they call home.
For every hour an employee volunteers (up to 24 hours per year) we give them $10 to donate to a non-profit of their choice. Plus, we’ll even match donations! For every dollar an employee donates to a qualifying non-profit KLN will match up to $250 yearly. The giving doesn’t stop there. Every division of the company has the opportunity to choose a non-profit they’d like to receive $5,000 at the end of the year. The best part? Our employees decide the winners by casting their ballots.
